The “‘I’ve lost 60lbs!’ Beyonce reveals she hit the treadmill and ate lettuce to shift post-pregnancy weight” post and the resulting conversation about the discourse surrounding pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s bodies, have been moved to my blog, Vogue Dissent. (All anonymous comments have been posted.) Yoga for Road Rage? →
Haha! I totally need this. Yan and Karin can vouch for my anger when driving through the streets of Ithaca… —ken

Laugh yourself fit →
I love how our yoga teacher always tries to get us to smile and laugh during practice! Not only does it make challenging poses more fun, but it works the core too. In poses such as chair pose and pigeon pose, the “haha” belly (one where the belly button is drawn up and in) keeps the abs engaged and helps you deepen the pose.

Inspiring Yoga Transformation →
My mom showed this to me, made me cry! This man was a disabled veteran who doctors told would never walk again, and through his dedication to his yoga practice and the belief of his teacher, he was able to walk and RUN again on his own, as well as achieve yoga poses well out of my practice! It’s incredible, a must watch. —ken

Holy Disorders →
A bit of a departure from the usual, but ever since I went to a lecture a couple of years ago on the prevalence of anorexia in nuns from the 1400s, I’ve found this topic intriguing.   “Starvation was a constant for these women. It melted their flesh away, so that the beating of their hearts could be seen behind the racks of their ribs. It made them one with the poor and destitute, and...
